About Us ICCR Scholarship

Africa Scholarship Scheme for Academic Year 2021-2022 by the ICCR.

ICCR Scholarships are offered to international students for Under-Graduate, Post-Graduate and PhD programs in selected Indian Universities. Applications are invited for academic year 2021-22. Last date for submission of applications for UG/PG/Ph.D courses is 30 April 2021.

Applicants should register and apply on specific courses on the ICCR A2A Scholarship Portal (http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in ). All interested candidates are required to register at this portal with a valid email ID which they will be using during the duration of their academic relationship with ICCR. Thereafter applicants must submit their application with true copies of all relevant documents as required by the A2A portal. For any technical assistance in the application procedure, the applicant may contact a2asupport.iccr@gov.in.

The scholarships include full tuition fees, a monthly stipend or living allowance, a house rent allowance, a one-time thesis and dissertation expense, and a return economy class air fare to the nearest airport and 3rd AC train fare to the place of study. For science courses the expenditure on laboratory chemicals and other related incidental charges will be borne by the scholars themselves.

Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of admission in Indian Universities/Institutes and not more than 30 years of age. A valid passport for the duration of the course is essential for successful submission of applications.

Applicants will now have the option to apply to 5 Universities / Institutes in the order of their preference of study.All candidates applying for BSc/BE/B.Tech courses must have taken Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) in their school leaving exam. The applicant must be proficient in English with no serious health problems.

For AY 2021-22, a 500-word essay in English has been introduced to ascertain English Proficiency. Besides, students can also submit their TOFEL/ IELTS etc. Standardised Test scores, if available. Universities/ institutes may conduct interview of the applicants online, if so required.

The applicant should ensure that they are eligible for the course and meet the eligibility criteria and should submit relevant documentation as required by the Universities in addition to the basic certificates mentioned in the application form. They should always refer to the Universities Handbook / University Grants Commission's website www.ugc.ac.in and the concerned university / institute's website for eligibility criteria etc. It may also be noted that incomplete application will be summarily rejected by universities if documents are not in English or English translation is not provided.

Compulsory personal medical insurance is a mandatory requirement for availing ICCR scholarship. ICCR scholarship student must procure Medical Insurance policy with minimum sum assured for Indian Rupees 500,000 which is equivalent to US$6800 per annum. Students can purchase medical insurance from any of the insurance companies of their choice. However to facilitate students, A2A Portal has two insurance companies for referral purpose. This is to highlight that ICCR will not be offering medical coverage to its students.

Once the applicant has been submitted online, he/she must regularly check the A2A portal and their email for any updates.
