High Commission of India in Pretoria, is pleased to announce scholarships for students from South Africa and scholarships for Lesotho students under Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music scholarship scheme (A1209) (formerly ICCR Scholarship scheme for Indian Culture) for pursuing study of Indian culture such as dance, music, theatre, performing art, sculpture, Indian languages, Indian cuisine, etc. at Indian Universities / Institutes for the academic year 2024-25.
2. Interested international students can submit their application online through ICCR'S A2A scholarship portal http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in, which will be operational from 20 February 2024.
3. Applicants are advised to go through the guidelines available on A2A portal and submit the application online latest by 30 April 2024. For any technical assistance in the application procedure, the applicant may contact a2asupport.iccr@gov.in.
4. Applicants should exercise due diligence and research in a dedicated manner on the specific admission criteria laid down by various Universities for each subject, and ensure that they submit all relevant documentation as required by the Universities in addition to the basic certificates mentioned in the application form.
5. Applicants age should be between 18 to 40 years old at the time of admission. In respect of PhD programme, the age limit is 50 years.
6. Applicants have the option to apply to 5 universities / institutes in the order of their preference of study. Placement to a particular educational institution / University will depend on the availability of seats and the course that have been chosen.
7. The scholarship includes return economy class air-fares to the nearest airport to the place of study, apart from tuition fees paid to the institute and a monthly stipend.
8. Only students proficient in English may apply for admission since all teaching will be in English. A 500-word essay in English has been introduced to ascertain English Proficiency. Besides, students can also submit their TOEFL or IELTS etc standardized test scores, if available.
9. Personal medical insurance is a mandatory requirement for availing ICCR scholarship. ICCR will not be offering medical coverage.
10. Once the application has been submitted online, applicants must regularly check the A2A portal and their email for any updates.
