India - Lesotho Relations
Since 1996, the High Commission in Pretoria has been concurrently accredited to Lesotho. (Earlier, Lesotho was concurrently accredited to the High Commission of India in Botswana). Following the visit of Prime Minister Mosisili to India in August 2003, Lesotho opened a resident Mission in New Delhi in 2005.
India and Lesotho enjoy a strong relationship that has stood the test of time and is based on shared values and principles, underpinned by the noble objective of South-South cooperation.

Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Durban
The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Durban is the Cultural Wing of the Consulate of India in Durban and started its activities in 1996. It functions under the overall supervision of the Consulate. It is administered by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) an autonomous organisation of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, which promotes awareness and appreciation of India's composite cultural heritage abroad.
The main objectives of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Durban are as follows:-
Promote Indian Culture in South Africa
To disseminate culture related information for a better understanding of India.
To foster closer links between India & South Africa through cultural interaction.

The High Commission of India in Pretoria invites applications from nationals of Lesotho and South Africa for ICCR Scholarships under Africa Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2014-15 as per details given below. 2.Please ensure that the applications sent to us are complete in every detail as incomplete applications will not be considered. 3.These scholarship slots include return economy class air fares to the nearest international airport and 3rdclass AC Train fare to the place of study, if so required. 4. Prospective students should do due diligence &research on the specific admission criteria laid down by the various Universities for each subject, and ensure that they submit all relevant documentation as required by the Universities in addition to the basic certificates mentioned in the application form. ICCR Scholarhip 2026-27
High Commission of India, Pretoria, South Africa has the honour to invite scholars from South Africa and Lesotho to study under India-Africa Maitri Scholarship Scheme for Academic Year 2026-27
Applicants should register and apply for specific courses of their choice on the ICCR A2A Scholarship Portal https://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in. The Scholarship includes full Tuition Fees, a monthly stipend or living allowance, housing allowance, and a return economy class air ticket. For Science Courses, the expenditure on laboratory chemicals and other related incidental charges will be borne by the scholars/students. It is compulsory for all ICCR Scholarship students to procure Medical Insurance. Detailed guidelines for applying for the ICCR Scholarships are be available on the A2A Portal (https://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in). The Portal is operational from 27 February 2026 for students to apply.
