Fresh registration required for repatriation of stranded Indian nationals and OCI card holders from South Africa to India through Vande Bharat Mission and Non scheduled commercial flights

A new list of Indian nationals stranded in South Africa and Lesotho and certain categories of foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holders, who are desirous of traveling to India is being compiled as part of Vande Bharat Mission, the ongoing repatriation exercise by Government of India. Those who have registered earlier are requested to register themselves again.

2. The following eligibility criteria are to be considered while applying:

a) Indian Nationals: Priority will be given to compelling cases, including migrant workers/ laborers who have been laid off, persons with expired visas, persons with medical emergency/ pregnant women/ elderly, those required to return to India due to death of a family member and students.

b) Foreign Nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India(OCI) card holders: As per ADVISORY: TRAVEL AND VISA RESTRICTIONS RELATED TO COVID-19 Vide MHA O.M. No. 25022/24/2020-F.V/F.I(Pt.) dated 29.06.2020 which may be seen at https://boi.gov.in/content/advisory-travel-and-visa-restrictions-related-covid-19-1

3. The following conditions have been laid down for travel on the flights:

  1. The airfare will have to be borne by the individual.
  2. All travelers must undergo mandatory institutional quarantine at port of arrival at own cost and passengers cannot take domestic flights without completing the mandatory period of quarantine in port of arrival.
  3. Only for compelling and exceptional reasons such as human distress, pregnancy, death in the family, serious illness and parent(s) accompanied by children below 10 years, as assessed by receiving states, home quarantine may be permitted for 14 days.
  4. All travelers are required to give an Undertaking which is enclosed.
  5. Only asymptomatic travelers will be allowed to travel.
  6. Installing Aarogya Setu app on arrival in India is mandatory.
