Indian Naval Sailing Vessel Tarini completes the first leg of Circumnavigation

1. Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini, manned by an all women Indian Crew, successfully finished her first leg of circumnavigation and entered Fremantle, Australia on 23 October 2017.

2. The first leg of the voyage from Goa to Fremantle spanning over 5000 nautical miles was covered in 42 days. The crew got a pleasant surprise on Diwali Day, when they received a video call from the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi with Diwali greetings.

3. The crew are currently enjoying their well-earned rest before commencing the second leg on 5th November 2017 to Lyttelton, New Zealand. We expect the vessel to touch our shores (Cape Town) in February 2018.
