The 3rd edition of the Global Exhibition on Services (GES) will be held from April 17-20, 2017 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida.  The event is promoted by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry in association with Confederation of Indian Industry and Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC).  The 2nd edition of the GES was held in April 2016, was inaugurated by Hon'ble President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee and was a resounding success.

2. The 3rd edition proposes to continue the focus on sectors like Information Technology and Telecom, Tourism and Hospitality, Media and Entertainment, Healthcare, Logistics, Environmental Services, Facility Management, Exhibition & Event Services, Professional Services, Retail & E-Commerce, Education, Banking and Financial Services, Skills, Railways Services, Next Gen Cities, Energy Services, Space, Sports Services, Start Ups/SME in Services & Wellness.

3. In this context Minister of States(I/C) for Commerce and Industry, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, had written to her counterparts in August, 2016 in China, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia to join the event as a focus country, to which China has already agreed to.

4. Ministry of Commerce has written to this Ministry seeking support in disseminating information about the exhibition and have requested to ensure participation of all Indian Missions abroad through the following activities:

  • Promoting the event through their networks.
  • To organize a road show in their embassy.
  • Mobilizing a Ministerial delegation especially from the focus countries.  Also their participation in cuisine and cultural show is welcome.
  • Support in identifying and mounting a delegation of Service Sector private stakeholders from the country of their accreditation.
  • To provide a list of buyers in various sectors who could be hosted by the organizers.

5.  A copy of the brochure related to GES 2017, Guidance Note for conducting the road show and copies of the letters to the focus countries are enclosed for ready reference.  Missions are requested to give wide publicity to the event and also facilitate issues of visas to potential investors/businessmen who are interested to come for the event.
