Invest in India Business Forum
The High Commission of India, Pretoria, together with Invest India and PwC SA, hosted a very successful Invest in India Business Forum on 12 November 2018 at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg and on 13 November 2018 at the PwC offices in Waterfall, Midrand.
The Invest in India Business Forum highlighted the advantages and opportunities for South African companies looking to investing into India. Opportunities in various sectors in India were presented to the audience by Invest India and Invest India also highlighted the ease of doing business in India. India is now ranked 77 out of 190 countries in the ease of Doing Business.
The panelists at the forum spoke on the new India initiatives as well as the experiences of South African companies having invested into India. Opportunities for partnerships with Indian companies, entry strategies, market access were discussed by the panelists. South African companies at the forum who are keen to expand into India include Discovery Health, Cambrilearn, Slanko Global Holdings, DAFSA Group of Companies, Destiny Driven Incorporated. The sectors for investment include education, agro-processing, health insurance, infrastructure, mining, construction etc.
Going forward, the momentum will be push for more and more South African companies to seriously consider India as a destination of choice for their expansions. India is growing at a rapid pace and with the significant reforms taking place, India is the destination of choice.
